North Korea Fires Missile Off East Coast Submarine Base

South Korea`s military reported that North Korea fired a ballistic missile on Wednesday from the east coast into the sea just before U.S. and Chinese leaders are set to meet and discuss the North Korean arms program, according to Reuters. The launch came from Sinpo, a port city that is also the site of a North Korean submarine base on the North`s east coast and flew around 60 km (40 miles). Any launch of objects using the ballistic missile technology violates U.N. Security Council resolutions but the North said they have sovereign rights to self defense and pursuit of space exploration.
