Further widespread Taxi violence re-erupts in Cape Town

CAPE TOWN South Africa (Xinhua) -- Highways leading to several areas in the city have been blocked by taxi drivers fighting to control local routes, authorities said. Three buses have reportedly been torched, while several taxis have been stoned. Many commuters have had their journey´s disrupted. Siphesihle Dube, spokesperson for the provincial Minister of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, assured the commuters that steps have been taken to bring order and greater safety to their travel arrangements.
