Without warning, a new Ghostbusters game has launched for PSVR. Called Ghostbusters: Now Hiring, the virtual reality title places you in the shoes of a new poltergeist-catching recruit.It`s an episodic series that opens with an item called Firehouse. Jake Zim, senior vice president of VR at Sony Pictures (one of the studios behind the 2016 Ghostbusters film), told io9 that the plan was to `put out Chapter 1, [see] if people like it and see what they want, then we can add Chapter 2 and keep going.` Take a look at the launch trailer below.Franchise co-creator Ivan Reitman, who also directed the original 1984 movie, was heavily involved in the project, according to io9--one of his biggest suggestions was the addition of the Ghostbusters Icon Ghost as the player`s guide. In Now Hiring, the ghost is voiced by American comedian and Agents of SHIELD star Patton Oswalt.Ghostbusters: Now Hiring - Firehouse is out now on the PlayStation Store in the US, available for $7, though it doesn`t seem to be available yet in the UK or Australia.The last console Ghostbusters game was Sanctum of Slime, which launched in 2011 to negative reviews. Since then there have been a selection of mobile games, and, of course, the 2016 film reboot, which starred Melissa McCarthy. Reitman has since said there are `many` more Ghostbusters movies in development, though a direct sequel to the 2016 film is unlikely to happen.
