It wasn´t like the Pioneer boys soccer team needed to win when the Mustangs played host to rival Leland on Feb. 16. After all, Pioneer already had a lock on the championship in the Santa Teresa Division of the Blossom Valley Athletic League. So the Mustangs didn´t need to win, but they sure wanted to win. And that´s just what they did, dominating the Chargers 5-0 to wrap up league play undefeated at 13-0-1. It was a win Pioneer wanted for a few reasons. Of course, the Mustangs were hoping for an undefeated run through the league schedule, but they also wanted to win because it was Senior Night at Pioneer.
