Leland Ledger came close as a junior, but he didn´t win the 138-pound title at the Central Coast Section wrestling championships last year. What´s more, he won´t win it this year either. It´s certainly not for lack of talent, though. It´s just that the Leigh High School wrestling star has made the jump from 138 pounds to 145, and when the CCS tourney is held Feb. 24-25 at Independence High School in East San Jose, Ledger will no doubt be the favorite to win it all in the higher weight class.
